Our kids have been showing meat goats in 4-H for three years. In the past we have had to buy our wethers for the
kids, with the kids doing ok as far as placing. With some purples but mostly blue ribbons. But in 2005 we rasied
our own and the results were amazing. This was the first year in 4-H for our eight year old daughter Niki. She has
been waiting to be in 4-H sence she was 5. She showed in the dairy goat & meat goat shows and did showmanship
in both. Niki got Reserve Champion in the peewee class & overall Reserve Champion in the Dairy Goat show for showmanship
as well as Overall Reserve Grand Champion in the dairy goat show. Niki also got Overall Reserve Grand Champion in the
Meat Goat show with her wether she rasied sence birth. Our oldest daughter Josie got Reserve Champion for showmanship in the
junior meat goat class. And our sons wether got Champion for Rate of Gain Market Meat Goats. All of our wethers we had
in the show did very well with all but one getting Purple Ribbons.
